• Cleanliness: 10 The room was spotless when we arrived and was cleaned perfectly for us daily. The housekeeping staff let us sleep in and never disturbed us.
• Location: 10 Right on the Puerta del Sol, we spent many nights observing the activities below.
• Common facilities and services: 10 The lobby area was nice and roomy. The restaurant was always busy, yet the service was great; cold sangria and delicious tapas.
• Staff: 10 Everyone at the front desk was friendly and helpful.
• Quietness: 7.5 Although our room overlooked the very noisy Sol, once we shut the windows we could hear very little. Walls were a little thin so we could hear our neighbors occasionally.
• Room: 10 Our room was typical for Europe, a bit on the small size, but perfect for our needs. Bathroom was clean and roomy enough. View made it all worthwhile.
• Value for money: 10 We couldn't believe the bill when we got it. These accommodations were well worth it and everything Rick Steves said and more.
