Just 5 minutes from the beaches of Sitges, in the town of Sant Pere de Ribes, we will find a typical "American" house dating to the end of the 19th Century known as can dr. Cuadras, and today converted into a charming hotel called “Hotel Palou”.
The house was built in 1874 for Cristòfol Cuadras, an “American” - the name given to emigrants returning from overseas where they had made their fortune. These people were characterised by their desire to show off their accumulated wealth by building luxury villas filled with ornaments and incorporating elements from the colonies from where they had come.
The most characteristic original elements of the building have been conserved such as the splendid plaster coffered ceilings, the wrought iron bars and handrails, the hydraulic tile floor or the original paintings from the rooms.
The architectural singularity of the building and the “American” or “Indian” characters have been a source of inspiration around which the hotel has been created. Each of the rooms, all of which are different, have been decorated in the style of that period and together with the communal areas, balconies, garden and swimming pool they evoke the charm and romanticism of that era.

It is very quiet but only 2 km from Sitges so perfect if you want to be in a relaxed place but close enough to the action if you want to experience the nightlife/beach
