Really awful, we took a shower with our flip-flops on and did not dare to lay our hand anywhere.

Services? What services?? The common bathroom... the only positive thing to say about it, there was toilet paper.

Tiny room with sink (and tap which would spray the whole room if opened normally). Even tinier balcony (big enough to turn around yourself)

DEFINITELY NOT. Hello? 55 euros per night for a tiny room, a shared bathroom with a distinct lack of cleanliness in a building which should have been demolished a long time ago (4th or 5th floor, no lift!).

The location, cleanliness, good mattress.

The stairs: the pension is on the 4th or 5th floor and carrying a suitcase or after a tiring or hot day it´s a bit too much.
There´no fan or AC which made it too warm inside the room, even in february.

It´s not very expensive but i did stay at better places for less. Where rooms were more spacious and there were more bathrooms available. (Victoria-Calle Comtal, e.g).

You can expect a lot less from the cheapest hotel in Barcelona but if you keep that in mind it is the most beautiful place to stay in the city for that small amount of money.Warm croissants for breakfast and a balkony looking over the Ramblas, what more do you need :)
